Grace Kelly Popup #46 Remix

Grace Kelly, a saxophonist on Instagram who plays with Jon Batiste (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Leo P, and many others, happened to post this popup as I was scrolling through my feed. When it happened my screen automatically scrolled up to the top and I started reading, and found that she was asking people to remix her popup! It felt serendipitous and I was excited to get involved. I asked her where I could download the recording, so she put a stem up on her soundcloud and left a link in her Instagram bio. I immediately knew what I wanted to do and that I wanted to push myself to learn some new video editing techniques. Cloning myself in particular, was something knew I wanted to do, and soon discovered I would supposedly have to pay more money to do, in order to access masking tools. However, with masking tools you often get a shadow where you overlap frames. I managed to find a workaround that saved me both money and time to achieve the same result! I may do a tutorial on it soon.

After I finally finished editing everything and putting it up, it was really exciting to see Grace Kelly posting fire emojis on my Instagram post and getting excited about the video. She thanked me for putting so much time into it, retweeted it, and reposted it on her Instagram, and I thanked her for the opportunity because I honestly had a blast building a track around her spontaneous saxophone jam (which took place by a bridge in Moscow, Russia) and filming and editing everything. I did not edit her saxophone part at all.

All music and video produced and edited by me, Jackson Pryor-Bennett (excepting Grace Kelly's saxophone work and video).
